Dirleton Solar Walk
The Dirleton Solar Walk is a scale model of the Solar System. Project lead, Daniel Arnold is the Associate professor of Geoscience at Herriot-Watt University whose vision was brought to life with the help of parters, community, and a team of creatives, academics and enthusiasts. The Dirleton Solar Walk is a physical installation plotted along a public pathway through Dirleton village, its purpose is to encourage children and adults to discover a passion for science, maths and astronomy through the wonders of the Solar System. The aim of this project is to promote Science and STEM, Develop student-led learning, create an accessible educational resource, promote the importance of dark skies and encourage visitors to the local area.
